Phil Borchmann, Editor of Gulfshore Business Magazine. For nearly 12 years, Borchmann has served as the editor of award-winning Gulfshore Business, a business-to-business publication covering Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties. He also edits Naples REALTOR—the official magazine of the Naples Area Board of Realtors—that is published by Gulfshore Life magazine. Before his arrival in Southwest Florida, Borchmann spent about 15 years working as a reporter at newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune and the Rockford Register Star in Rockford, Illinois, his hometown. Borchmann is a graduate of Illinois State University.
Timothy J. Cartwright is a partner at Fifth Avenue Family Office. Fifth Avenue Family Office provides a broad range of services ranging from investment management to sophisticated estate planning, evaluation of private equity and venture investment opportunities, thoughtful multi-generational legacy transfers and lifestyle services. Mr. Cartwright serves as volunteer Treasurer of the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation and was recently named as one of Florida Trend’s 500 Most Influential Floridians due to his venture capital and private equity activity with the Tamiami Angel Funds and Adrenaline Venture Fund.
Prior, he co-founded By-Products Interactive, an electronic trading, market research and publishing company; and Benchmark Solutions, a supply chain consulting company. He began his career working with middle market companies at Arthur Andersen in Chicago, Illinois. He resides in Naples with his wife and three children. He is a softball coach, a soccer coach, and an active member of First Baptist Church of Naples.
Barbara Melvin is the Vice President, Community Relations Officer for First Florida Integrity Bank. She has been in banking for over 29 years. Her expertise is helping small business owners reach their financial goals either with loan products or other products and services they may need. Certified in Leadership and Development through the John Maxwell program, she has helped business owners grow their business through counseling and mentoring and has helped to show them how to be more profitable, productive and efficient. Barbara is an infrastructure in the SWFL community and has garnered many awards including 2019 Glass Slipper Recipient – Representing Collier County Champions for Learning, 2018 – 25 Most Influential Diversity Leader – Presented by The Cape Coral Community Foundation, 2017 – Tri-Town Construction – Volunteer of the Year Award, 2016 – Mother Perry Award – Collier County NAACP award and the 2015 – Volunteer of the Year Award – FL Small Business Development Center – Local and State Award. She enjoys listening to her husband sing and going to the movies.
Scott Fischer, 2018 Distinguished Entrepreneur of SW Florida Award winner is the owner of Scott Fischer Enterprises. He has worked in the motorsports industry since he was 15 and purchased his first motorcycle store in 1988 building it into Scott Fischer Enterprises. Fischer owns and operates Top Rocker Events and Top Rocker Field, an 18-acre event site. Fischer is active in the community, sitting on the boards for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida, Blessings in a Backpack, Cypress Lake Country Club and Tamiami Angel Fund. As a visionary-philanthropist, Fischer supports and mentors startups, incubators, and accelerators with strategic, operational and business planning.
Donna M. Flammang is a member/partner in the law firm of Brennan Manna & Diamond, P.L. in Bonita Springs, Florida whose practice is concentrated in the areas of business/tax law and estate planning. She assists business with the formation, purchases, and sales of business, contracts, employment issues, non-compete issues, tax matters, trademarks, copyrights, and license agreements, and tax issues. She was formerly the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of an NYSE listed Fortune 600 international manufacturing company and a shareholder/partner in the over 400 lawyers Midwest regional law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister in Ohio. She has been named as a “Best Lawyer” for 2018 and 2019. Besides being a member of Rotary, she is a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute of Entrepreneurship of FGCU, a member of the Advisory Board of the FGCU Lugert School of Business, Small Business Development Center, a Board member of The Florida Lions Eye Clinic, the Speakers Assembly of SW Florida and is Vice President of the Board of The Everglades Wonder Gardens.
Sarah Newcomb is the Executive Director for the Estero Chamber of Commerce in Estero, FL. She previously worked for Lee County Economic Development focusing on growing and expanding our business community. Newcomb now helps promote businesses in SWFL. She mentors two students at Dunbar High School through STAMP and loves to give back to the community. She has volunteered for LARC, Our Mothers Home, PACE Center for girls, and more. Newcomb received a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Administration from FSW and is currently working on an MBA online through WGU. She states, ” I’m very outgoing and love to travel and experience new places and foods.”
